About Me

Hi! I’m Jessica—a New Yorker living in France, passionate home cook, and lover of seasonal, flavorful food. I believe cooking is one of life’s greatest pleasures: a way to nourish yourself, slow down, and connect with others. My favorite recipes feel homey and accessible, yet elevated and special.

My love for cooking began in my parents’ kitchen, where weekends meant big pots simmering on the stove and food was always an act of love. Since then, I’ve been lucky to travel widely and discover new ingredients, global flavors, and different ways of approaching food. All of this shapes how I cook today.

Now I live just steps from Lille’s most iconic market. Its stalls of fresh produce, cheeses, and seasonal ingredients inspire everything I make. Living in France has deepened my appreciation for quality ingredients, mindful eating, and lingering over a shared meal. At the same time, my American side loves practical dishes for busy nights. You’ll find all of these influences in my kitchen.

This blog is for people who love to cook (or want to love it). For anyone who romanticizes the ordinary, finds joy in good ingredients, and believes a meal can be the highlight of the day. I want to help you feel confident in the kitchen, teach you something new, and nourish your body and mind.

When I’m not in the kitchen, I work in public health in the nonprofit sector. This blog started as a way to share recipes with family and friends, and has grown into a space to connect with home cooks across the globe.

I’m so glad you’re here! Let’s cook something delicious together.

FAQ

How do you test your recipes?
All of my recipes are tested at least three times before I publish them. My partner, Olivier, taste-tests every version (and patiently answers my endless “how can I make this better?” questions). I also get feedback from family and friends, and I keep refining recipes even after posting them—because I actually cook my own recipes in my everyday life. My goal is always the same: reliable results, great flavor, and a recipe you’ll want to make again and again.

How can I ask you a question or submit feedback about a recipe?
I’d love to hear from you! You can leave a comment directly on the recipe, email me at contact@jessicashomekitchen.com, or message me on Instagram (@jessicashomekitchen).

Do you create all your recipes yourself?
Yes. Every recipe on this site is created, tested, written, and photographed by me in my home kitchen (unless otherwise stated).

Are your recipes healthy?
My philosophy is “more good stuff.” I focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and balanced meals—not restriction. I’m a big believer in intuitive eating and enjoying all kinds of foods.

Do you work with brands?
Yes—when a brand aligns with my cooking philosophy and the type of recipes I share. If you’re interested in collaborating, please email me at contact@jessicashomekitchen.com.

Can I use your photos or recipes on my website?
Please don’t republish full recipes without permission. You’re welcome to share a photo with credit and a link back to the original post.
